Flying Korean Air on Asiana miles (one-way, off-peak)
| Region | Economy: SKYPASS | Economy: Asiana miles | Prestige: SKYPASS | Prestige: Asiana miles |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic | 5,000 | 5,000 | 6,000 | 6,000 |
| Japan, China, NE Asia | 15,000 | 15,000 | 22,500 | 22,500 |
| Southeast Asia | 20,000 | 20,000 | 35,000 | 30,000 |
| South Asia | 25,000 | 25,000 | 45,000 | 37,500 |
| Americas, Europe, Oceania | 35,000 | 35,000 | 62,500 | 62,500 |
Economy costs the same on both charts. In prestige, unconverted Asiana miles cost 5,000 to 7,500 fewer miles to Southeast and South Asia, which is worth weighing before you convert if you fly business there often.
Korean Air prestige on Asiana miles uses the Business Smartium rate to the Americas, Oceania and Europe and the Business rate elsewhere (Korean Air’s integration plan; may change with aircraft).Asiana miles: convert or keep? What the merger changes
- Cash and miles widens from a 500-mile minimum and 30% of the fare to a 100-mile minimum and 40% of the fare.
- Award seats: for 10 years Korean Air must keep award-seat usage at or above the two airlines’ combined 2024 level, and for the Americas, Europe and Oceania at or above 2023, the highest of the last 10 years.
- It must report peak-season award-seat supply every year to the monitoring committee.
- Until 10 years after the December 12, 2024 business combination, the mileage program can’t be made less favourable than the approved plan.
Peak season dates
Korean Air publishes its peak-season calendar in advance each year. Peak dates cost more miles and sell out sooner, so check the calendar on koreanair.com before you fix your dates.
